The Bitnami service does not show in the Service Manager service listing.

Is it really difficult to add a new service in Pardus?

I have installed from the Pardus 2009 ISO that was available 15 days back.
This problem was there with Pardus 2009 beta and it still exists in pardus 2009.

Bitnami is installed under /opt i.e. using sudo.
So when i have to start it i need to supply the sudo password.

But if starts automatically with the system, then there is not need for that.

Can this be done... start the LAMP when Pardus starts all the other services.

I changed the Kernel line accordingly. But i still have the same problem.
Is it to do something with using xrender.

My laptop does not have 3D support. So i am using XRENDER to have translucency effect.
Could this be the source of this problem. I haven't tried otherwise.

Let me try removing the above setting.

So I installed Bitnami, which i find the easiest of all LAMP packages to install.
But I want the LAMP server to start automatically as a service.

As of now I have to do it manually after logging in.

How do i make the service start automatically.

I copied sopcaster & sp-sc to /usr/local/bin.
I also installed libstdc++ pisi through package manager.

I had downloaded the following files earlier and had tried to get it running.

1. sopcast-player-0.3.0-1.fc10.i386.rpm
2. sp-auth-3.0.1-1.i386.rpm

I converted them to .tgz using rpm2tgz.
I uncompresed them and copied them to /usr

I get the GUI when i run sopcast-player, but i did not get any chanell list even after refresh.
I saw the .pySopCast folder under my $HOME.
The .xml file is there, but list does not appear on the GUI.

I tried to maually add a sop:// url and tried connecting.  Still no luck.

I have downloaded sopcaster from the new link. Let me give it a try.
