Hey atolboo,
I had installing Pardus 2009 through 4 GB USB drive. After it finished installing, I found that the boot loader was not installed.
But Thanks to help, i was able to fix the grub boot issue.
Is this a problem with Pardus or would I have done something wrong?

Assistance / Configuring Pardus / grub-install Freezes the system [Solved]

Hi,
I have installed Pardus 2009. When i try to do grub-install /dev/sda, i receive the following message
Due to a bug in xfs-freeze, the follwoing command might produce segmentation fault when /boot/grub is not in an xfs file system. This error is harmless and can be ignored.
After this the system freezes. I have to do a hard shutdown to come out of the situation.
What could be the problem?

Assistance / Laptop / Screen Goes Blank and does not come back to normal

Hi,
I am using Acer Aspire 5002 Laptop AMD 64 bit 1.2 GB Ram Pardus 2009 Beta.
If I keep the Laptop Idle for sometime, the screen blanks automatically. Thats ok.
But when i move the mouse or press a key on the key board, it still does not come back to normal.
I have to do a CTRL+ALT+F1 and then CTRL+ALT+F7 to get back to normal screen.
What could be the reason?

Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Network onnection not starting automatically

Hey PhiX,
I did as you suggested. But on restarting the machine, it is the same.
Network does not start automatically.
I need to start it manually.
If i switch of the modem , It detects this situation and the network goes down. When i switch it on again, the network start automatcally.
It is only during the boot that there is a problem.

Hello everyone,
This is Ganesh from India. I am an IBM AS/400 professional.
I have been using Pardus from the time i saw it on Distowatch.
It's a great distro.
I am a distro hopper, but Pardus seems to a permanant fixture on my laptop , others come and go.
Great work by the pardus team.

Assistance / Software / Re: Mplayer in english...

Maybe what you can do is download Mplayer from http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html and compile it and install it in a different directory. What i did was, after uncompressingn the archive, did a ./configure --prefix=$HOME/myapps
and then once through configure, make & make install, you can create a link on the desktop from $HOME/myapps/bin/gmplayer And lo I have my Mplayer in English.
