No card with a Ralink chip anymore gave me even more headaches.

I HAVE NOW (EM4057 van EMINENT) :
00:0c.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.1                            1a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 20)

The only problem now is No connection after reboot when WEP is enabled.

Think your right thats the problem.
Also if I say in the Network Manager not to make a connection it is not working.

I don't think its a problem only related to Pardus. Reading at the Ubuntu Forum the same kind of problems.

To work around this problem would be disabeling WLAN on boot because if you make a WLAN connection after boot manually everything works perfect.

I can not imagine that disabeling WLAN on boot is very difficult to accomplish but I am only a Linux beginner and don't know how to do it.

I understand!
I saw written down solved (I did not write it) and I removed it because the problem is not solved.

I only found out now that the real problem is WEP and it has nothing to do with Ralink anymore.

In the meantime I found out that the problem is created when WEP Encryption is enabled.

If I disable WEP then WLAN works fine after booting the computer.
If WEP is enabled I have no WLAN connection after boot.

The suggestion in a link on this thread to write the key in the file local.start did not solve the problem.

The problem would be also solved if it is possible to disable WLAN on boot.

But I did not find the file what I have to edit to accomplish this.

I saw the file local.stop but I don't know what I have to write there to shutdown my wireless before shutting down the computer.

If I restart the computer without shutting down wireless it tells me in Dutch verbonden met

If I shutdown my wireless and then restart the computer it tells me in Dutch Verbinden en daarna Verbonden. This way my wireless works after reboot.

I gave up on Ralink, it did not work also ndiswrapper gave me the same problems.

Switched to a Realtek card RTL-8185. (Eminent EM4057). It worked out of the box.

The only problem I still have is if I boot the adapter tells me I am connected but I don't have Internet.
When I switch it off in the Network Manager and on it works.

Is there someone out there who experienced the same on boot?

I found out that if I switch off my wireless connection before reboot it connects correctly when I restart the computer.

If I shutdown the computer with a life wireless connection it will not connect correctly after reboot.

The card is recognized and also showing in the network manager. I configured everthing in the network manager but switched off DHCP because I have a fixed IP-Address.

I filled out:
IP Computer: 192.168.1.178
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
and the DNS-Servers from the Internet provider.

I also tried DHCP and disabled WEP encryption.

When I start the computer WLAN is always making a connection but most of the time I have no Internet connection.

My LAN (with cable) connection works perfect with the same configuration, offcourse I used then a different IP-Address (192.168.1.177) and no WEP.

I don't know if it would work if I don't use the Ralink driver what came with Pardus and use the Windows driver with ndiswrapper.

If this would work I have to investigate how I get this Windows driver installed with ndiswrapper.

I am totally new to Pardus and running into problems with wireless and did not find a solution to the problem on the forum.

My wireless PCI Card Ralink makes after configuration in the Network Manager connection without any problem but I have no Internet connection.

Spending now a couple of hours trying to figure it out but without any success.

Hope someone can give me a hint.
