Also when it's ON access speed is quite often not too well.

There is a need for a fast mirror server of this wiki site.

There used to be a dutch wiki on this domain, Willem, would you consider mirroring the entrie multi-lanuguage Pardus wiki over here at pardus-linux.nl?

There may be minor differences between XP Pro and XP Home regarding networking.
I'm not sure. I thought I'd seen this somewhere?
I don't have XP Home, so I can"t test this version.  Smiley

Hey Atolboo

I edited a little to clarify the lack of CD/DVD. I hope this is ok?

I will write a wiki on the installation on an Aspire One with the tweaks I made when I can find some time.

Of course, that is oke.
But when I see the difference in cost of a 2GB USB stick (I did see it today for 5 Euro) and external CD/DVD drive (50 Euro) the choice is very easy.
And that is the reason why I made this Installation/Clonezilla/GParted manual. Wink

Good point!  Cheesy

But then, you need two computers... I do have another one, but it is a PPC Apple, so no chance of running Pardus there! I had to settle for the purchase of an external drive -  you can get them cheap now...

Have a look in the completely overhauled Netbook installation guide.
This is a method to install the installation-CD on a bootable USB stick.
And maybe this method will also work to make a bootable Live-Pardus USB stick ? Grin

It is better to thank our Turkish friend (mentioned in the guide) who came up with this method.
As my knowledge of Turkish is 0.0 , I could only have a careful look at the images, to figure out , how it is done.  Tongue
You can use this method for any computer which is able to start from USB.

also thanks to  LinuxFanatic, who mentioned the wiki page in this topicGrin

I am working on 2 new Wiki pages:
1. How to make my USB-stick/hard disk with Fat16/32 and/or Ext3 and/or Ext4 writable.
2. How to make a Full/Incremental/Differential backup with Areca on a local IDE/SATA/USB disk and via (W)LAN to a remote Pardus 2008/2009 computer.
The first release of 1. is ready and can be viewed and tested here.
Put remarks about my mistakes and errors in this topic. Wink (I am now working on 2.)
