Hi there!
I am planning to start a community driven, free Linux Journal, focussing on Pardus.
This free magazine will be released once to two monthly and will be in English.
There can be newsfacts, tutorials, Q+A, trends in it, you name it.
I am looking for people who would like to help (volunteer) to:
  • Write in depth articles
Work on the layout (would prefer to publish a pdf monthly), scribus
    etc etc etc

As I said I would prefer to make a real pdf magazine which is easy to print, and can be read as a real magazine.
Please mail me when you are interested...

Hi Willem

We can be merging the current newsletter [1] with this one as I am the only one working on the newsletter, and cannot find enough manpower to summarize/tidy up monthly news.

[1] http://www.pardus.org.tr/eng/newsletter/

We can compile a list of headers from this one, or invent our own format.

it would be interesting in particular to know what Pardus developers are working on, new features and so on,  to improve the communication with the users  Wink
I might be interested in writing something, even if I don't have too much spare time  Embarrassed

I agree with klenje above on "topics".(it would be nice to know what pardus developers have brewing in the pot? Who,What, and where is somebody right now accomplishing mass productivity due to the use of a Pardus os? Manipulation techniques in order to solve somewhat major problems like communications in windstormed towns. Interesting Pardus Community news is what's needed in order for this mag not to become wind strewned paper.

I'd be more than happy to help out with this, and its translation to Romanian.

I hope it will be real someday. Pardus official homepage are not so often updated:
http://www.pardus.org.tr/eng/spread/

Not even the Turkish one:
http://www.pardus.org.tr/tanitin/

And many other stuffs there refeer to older versions.
so a english e-magazine would be welcome.

Something similar to this:

for the begining it can be a little magazine contains user experiences about some programs and may be pardus tools...
and also stories like meeting pardus, communities etc... i think it havent got to be in an official form. it can be a little bit independent...

Pardus germany have some nice flyers you can print out etc:
http://galerie.pardususer.de/displayimage.php?album=10&pid=175#top_display_media

http://galerie.pardususer.de/displayimage.php?album=10&pid=176#top_display_media

Would be nice have some similar materials in English and with the new 2011 version of course. Smiley

And if this would be translated to a English version it would be great:
http://www.ozgurlukicin.com/e-dergi/

Atleast some part of that in a monthly basis.

I think this could be a great idea, coupled with a push in other forums and presence on the web might encourage new users to give it a go. Ubuntu has a handy guide to basic setup and customization, so too can pardus. Plus I think ubuntu and the way it announces development is the best thing behind it. I love to read the thoughts and follow release developments ( Unity has it's detractors and equally its fans) and the fact you can see how releases are shaping up. OMGubuntu is great for this so maybe a OMGPardus could be good. Similar concepts like click here to install. And one more note perhaps Pardus developers could lead the way in creating a unique KDE experience unlike any other distro? As lets be honest there is little to tell one KDE distro from the other apart from package management and slight usage differences and tweaks.

Here is a new Pardus page I have not seen before:
http://www.pardusforum.com/index.html

Looks good but not working as expected. I filled in a bug report of it:
Bug 17638 Smiley

Some links not open when click on them. Like the big banner where it says:
Pardus 2011 is released!
Just click to download!

Nothing happend when click on it. But if they work on it seems fine. All relevant Pardus pages at one webpage.
