Hello,

Since upgrade from Pardus 2007.1 to 2007.2 kmail does not fetchmail when You are connected to Internet via DSL-Modem without router. (The connection is configured via rpppoe eth0 -> Modem -> Internet).

It seems that Kmail does not "feel" when you are connected with internet. It still believes You are offline.

Eveything is configured well because with Thunderbird I can fetch mails.
At my home I use a router, and use the same account. With this connection  (eth0 -> Router -> Modem -> Internet) Kmail is able to fetch mails.

How can I solve this problem? Are there some special tricks to configure? Why this did not happen under Pardus 2007.1?

Greetings
Wolfgang

This may be caused by nameserver. Could you open the /etc/resolv.conf (with root) and remove first entry, then add these lines?

nameserver 193.140.100.210
nameserver 193.140.100.215
nameserver 193.140.100.220

Dear Eren,

thanks for Your help, but changing the resolv.conf did not solv the Problem.

Kmail seems not to recognize whether the Computer is online or offline. Kmail allways behaves like there is no Internet connection.

Thunderbird still works.

Maybe this is not a Problem of Pardus but a Problem of Kmail or KDE

Greetings
