I've been looking for something like this for ages! Thank you Willem! I think Pardus should distribute their own laptops, at a generally high cost, so they can support more staff, and hopefully, create another branch in Germany/France where there is strong support for open source.

Mhmrcs:

Highly unlikely given Pardus already has strong financial support from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.

I wish I was able to buy Pardus merchandise.  Stickers, stuffed toys.  I want one of the Pardus t-shirts on http://www.ozgurlukicin.com/dukkan/.  But given I cannot read Turkish this might be a problem plus the postage costs to UK.

Pardus isn't as financially supported as you might think (I talked to a developer), the links of Ubuntu stand on far better financial footing.

Pardus is not allowed to make profit by the government as it is a public service. The financial support they get is 100% funded by the Turkish state. http://www.ozgurlukicin.com will, and should also be in English!

I  once rdered a Meerschaum pipe from Turkey and got it in 5 business days.  That was fast! So, I'm thinking of getting a Pardus mug, maybe a T-shirt, too, and have all of the Southern local yocals looking at it, scratcing their heads, thinking, "What's THAT?".  They would easily understand a T-shirt that stated, "Drink More Beer".  Grin
