'sudo' is just a system command, it has nothing to do with the program. You have to enter your root password (you won't see *** on your screen, it stays blank, so you just have to type your password and press enter Wink

You're a bit backwards, mate.  The sudo command uses your USER's password.  The su command uses root's.

What if you first type 'su' in the Konsole, enter your root password, and then

Code:
python setyp.py install

so, without 'sudo' in front of the python command Wink

If the 'su' command fails to login as root, you either mistype your root-password (remember, not the user-password, just to check Wink), or there is something wrong with your system...

Good luck, Sander

Oh, sorry  Grin
I have the same password for both, so I forgot Wink

if you could do this for me this would be great. Maybe i redownload the file again, maybe something is missing? I saved it in my home directory, maybe this is wrong?

I don't think it's wrong, but we might have missed a step somewhere.

I tried really with all combinations, I get always the same error. should I not unpack it?
can you try to install it to your sysem and let me know what you did when it works?
Now i am really curious why i can`t install it. also it tells that it is for gnome desktop, this can`t be, cause opensuse has kde desktop and there it works out of the box. but it is easy cause it is in the repo already and installs automatic.

Hmm, never mind. I tried to install it on my Pardus system, but it has some unfixable dependencies, called 'orange' and another one.

So, unfortunately, this is not going to work (for now).

rsvg is the other.  From the website, it's not required, but highly recommended.  Sorry ilanesh.
