Since I updated Pardus my local printer does not work anymore.
If I look in Tasma Printer the server shows paths: server: /var/run/cups/cups.socks this seems different than it was before.

I wanted to reinstall my local Printer, choosed KDE Print. Now I have a this Problem:

I can not choose local printer (USB9 in the checklistbox how is this possible and how can I chanche this. It is only possible to choose LPD; SMB; TCB; Cups- server an IPP.

Have I to configure Cups when, how, because I am newbee. Why it worked before?

   That's a new one.  Open up a web browser and type http://localhost:631

Go to the manage printers tab.  Check to see if your printer is still installed.  If not, you can go to the add printer tab and it'll walk you through.

This I proofed. Also there is the Problem USB is not listed.
I am going to be mad.

How can I choose the bottom USB, or may I declare my lokal printer as a networkprinter? If I have to do so, which bootom I have to choose and what I have to put in (Adress etc.)

try to remove all cables for printer and turn it off. Then plug it in again and see if pardus finds usb in printer setup.

Someone else had to do that.

Well, this I did quite often. Theprinter makes a noice and I believe it is initializied.

The problem is I am not able To klick in the checkbox USB. It seems my standalone Computer is a network.

Is there some help?

Dear Jaideep,

it is a bug, so far. In the old Pardus version this bug was not. I guess once the bug will not be anymore. The question is, if there is any solution to use the printer before and how, or do I have to wait a couple of weeks, till the bug maybe will not be anymore?

Could You solve the problem ore are You still waiting?

You have to wait for the bug to be fixed or just compile the latest version of cups, and if you do compile then send me the package.

Talisien I have created a package of latest cups 1.3.4 using pisibul. If you want the package then let me know.

Updating the package didn't help. Don't know what will work, didn't had this issue with any other bistro.

Dear Jaideep,

that is a bad thing. Do You know if it is posible to install older cups? In Pardus 2007 and 2007.1 everything worked. I really do not know much about compiling and such things.

I am able to cut out Apendix of an human beeing without killing; but Computers I will bring to death if I am going to compile.

Is there an other way to let the printer run?

Do you have the CD of older pardus version then just copy the package of older cups from the CD and do

pisi it <package path> --reinstall

. If you don't have the CD but know the version then download from here http://packages.pardus.org.tr/pardus-2007/. And please let me know the cups version you are talking about.

Dear Jaideep,

My printer works now with downgraded cups-1.2.9-29-17.pisi. It took a bit time.
You have to plug in USB- Stick several times and turn off and out the printer.

I am glad to print now.
