THIS IS complete bogus. You will only show a wallpaper after you are passing KDM.
If you want to change the background of the KDM (the screen were you insert your username and psw), take a look into
/usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/kdm/themes/pardus
If you want to change your KDM theme take a look at :
http://kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=40and follow the install instructions listed on every theme page.

ty werewolf for your interesting reply. i already changed grub splash screen, kdmtheme and splash screen successfuly. bootsplash screen was the only one left to change.
so if i understand you correctly, you cant modify the bootsplash screen after the grub menu selection, that being the first "pardus 2007" image. the remaining 2 "pardus 2007" default images (right before and after kdm theme) have been replaced with your help.
