Dear friends
The Live CD version of Pardus is running well on my HP Pavilion dv2297ea, except that I cannot connect to the internet. Before installing the hard disk version I must, obviously, be sure that I can connect.
In other distros, my Huawei HSDPA USB MODEM E220 usually gets detected and connected to /dev/ttyUSB0. However, when trying to configure the connection in Pardus, ttyUSB0 is not listed on the drop-down list of possible ports. How can I overcome this, please?
Within a terminal window I ran 'tail -f /var/log/messages' and did not see the modem. In my experience, the gadget always gets detected in two ways, once as GSM modem and once as a USB CDRom. The detection as CDRom was duly shown.
What should I do, where should I do it and how should I do it, please?
Best regards
