[solved]Problem with nVidia card - load

This is my card configuration:

Vendor:  nVidia Corporation
Model:   G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300]
Driver:   nvidia (3D Support)

I have followed the manual in relation to the instrallation of the card and no problems there.

The problem is when I load Pardus. After the usual wave screen and before the log in screen, the screen goes black for a second. At this point, either the nVidia logo is diplayed and the laptop proceeds to the login in screen, or the screen stays black and the cursor at the point blinks.

I guess 50% of the time the laptop hangs and I have to "hard" reboot it.

Any suggestions? I am on a laptop Dell Latitiude D620.

To be honest, it's not 50% of the time that it does not load. Maybe 70% ok and 30% hard reboot?

The thing is that it is even before the login screen, and KDE has not even kick in yet. So I am a bit concerned with changing my xorg.conf file if this file does not enter into the picture at such an early stage?

Hi Andrea

I do not use Compiz-fusion - I do not see the need for visual gimmicks and it draws on resources.

On the nVidia side, I have done everything as per the book, as you can see from my xorg.conf where my driver and my boardname are properly identified?

I am not at home and I will check my "Screen" section. Sorry, I must have mistaken that for my "Monitor" section. I will post this tonight?
