Is there anyone who can translate the trukish e-zine about Pardus-Linux (it is linked from the official Pardus website-(turkish)) into english or dutch?

http://www.ozgurlukicin.com/e-dergi/

I would much appreciate that, the e-zine looks nice, but I do not understand a word Turkish...

To make it translateable, it should've been written in English and that's not possible at this moment. Because all e-zine authors are from Turkish community and they don't know that much English...

I don't think it will be in other languages unless English speaking community makes an e-zine.

That is a pity since all the news comes from Turkey. I should not know what I must write to provide english speaking people with news.

There must be turkish people who want to help their fellow Pardus users by translating and making it available in english, just like there is also an english section  on the official Pardus Linux website.

After all it is a turkish distro, so the news comes from Turkey.

To make it more popular the Pardus news from the development place (Turkey) should be made readable for users worldwide, that is my personal oipnion.

PS The poeple that write the artciles (the writers) should not necessarily be the translators. I guess there are at least some turkish pardus users who are capable of translating it into english. From an english translation I can translate in dutch, german, and others in french or spanish I guess.

Actually e-zine doesn't include so much news. There's a news about gsoc which is already available in official Pardus web site in English, and a sneak preview of new kaptan which is produced by running current codes in pardus svn repository.

Other things are just package reviews of Hydrogen, KGet, Boncuk and Urban Terror. Those are already available in English at so much places on Internet...

PS: Sorry but we're (or just some people around me) really having hard time translating things from English to Turkish at this time (eg. 20% of kde4 is not available in Turkish). But we'd welcome any translators that would like to translate e-zines to English.

OK thanks for informing me /us.

BTW the Kaptan (new version) program, can I test that already? In the weekly 2008.iso test version I could not find it, nor could I find software package managment and internet access, I guess that is because of the iso being just a test version, do you know which iso I should take to have a preview on the new kaptan ?

Kaptan isn't ready for 2008, it needs a bit development Smiley You may be seeing it in next weekly release but I'm not sure.

Btw, you can try Kaptan from SVN. Check it and install;

http://svn.pardus.org.tr/uludag/branches/kaptan3

(it requires python2.5, please install it on 2008)
