Opera works with the old version of flash player:
http://paketler.pardus.org.tr/pardus-2007/macromedia-flash-9.0.31.0-7-6.pisi

But keep in mind that it has some security problems.

or try to use opera beta without flash downgrade:

or try newest flash version:

Here is how to get youtube flash movies to work with opera 9.50 beta 2 build 1933 and flash 9.0.124.0

1. open terminal/console and copy paste this line
Code:
find / -name libflashplayer.so 2> /dev/null
2. the path to libflashplayer.so file will follow (something similar to this should appear)
Code:
/opt/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so
3. go to console login as root and navigate to the folder containing libflashplayer.so
4. copy libflashplayer.so file to /usr/lib/opera/plugins/
5. open opera go to tools ----> preferences ----> advanced ----> click on plugin options ----> click change path
6. the only tick that should stay is the tick next to /usr/lib/opera/plugins/ box all other boxes should remain empty. that way opera will only look for plugins in that specific directory
7. confirm the changes you have made
8. test the plugin on youtube

p.s. report back if this suggested metod works for you

Can anyone tell me how to do step #3 (3. go to console login as root and navigate to the folder containing libflashplayer.so) in Bandito's post above?  I sign into console as root, type in the folder path and keep getting the result that it's a directory!  I know it's a directory...how to open it seems to be the problem!  Thanks!  (I'm thinking that "navigate" is the key word here!)

Can anyone tell me how to do step #3
Something like this:
Quote
atolboo@atolboo-pardus ~ $ su -
Wachtwoord:
atolboo-pardus ~ # cd /usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins
atolboo-pardus plugins # pwd
/usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins
atolboo-pardus plugins #

Hello Thane!

Here is the easier way. As I can understand you got past step 2.

Libflashplayer.so file should be stored in one of those two directories or maybe in both (/opt/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so or in
/usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so)

1. Start console and login as root to get this # sign at the end fo the line (su- hit enter and then enter your root password).
2. If your libflashplayer.so file is stored in /usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins then copy this line into your console and press enter
Code:
cp /usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/opera/plugins/

the other possibility is that libflashplayer.so is stored in /opt/netscape/plugins/ then copy this line into console and press enter
Code:
cp /opt/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/opera/plugins/

If it is stored in both directories it doesn`t matter from which one you copy the file, just choose one.

By following what is written above you can skip step number 4.

Step 5 is a bit modified, here is the right path

Code:
5. open opera go to tools ----> preferences ----> advanced----> content ----> click on plugin options ----> click change path

Everything else should work with no problems
