Just two weeks ago I bought a new pc (asus AM2 M2N-VM/DVI, AMD Athlon X2 BE2300, 2Gig RAM) and tried to install Linux on it. At first I had PCLinuxOS, than Kubuntu 8.04 64bit, both installed, but then didn't start up. Than I tried Mepis, LinuxMint, and Pardus. Neither of the three would even come to live. I tried winXP, which worked, so I went back to the seller, who managed (after 4½ hours of work ) to install suse10.3, but I had no sound and no 3D. Finally I tried Mandriva 2008, and could get it (almost complete) working.
Seems that not all (not even so new) motherboards and other stuff work with linux.
Because Mandriva 2008 did the trick, I thought Pardus 2008 would be a possibility, but the download didn't complete.
I tried 2 times, and two times it stopped at 540Mb.
Anyone an idea how to succeed and get Pardus or PCLinuxOS on this machine?
