Hello,

i have the following Problem with Compiz Fusion.

I want to use the Cairo-dock because and for it i have to install compiz fusion to work properly since xcompmgr is missing in the repos.

So i installed compiz over PiSi and always when i hit the Compiz Start Icon, the Session reloads , i  have to login again from KDM , but after that the boot up of kde goes only until "start window manager" and then falls back to the login screen.

Hope you can help me.

My Hardware:

Medion 96700 Notebook
1.8 GHZ Intel Celeron M
512 MB RAM

Intel Mobile Chipset 915 (supports 3D cause in other distros like Mint or Zenwalk i have no problem with composite or compiz)

I suffer the same problem.  To fix the issue (which requires the removal of compiz-fusion).

Reboot the machine, at kdm login presss ctrl+alt+f1
login
enter sudo pisi rm pyrex sexy-python compiz-fusion
enter yes

now reboot and the desktop should come back.

For Intel chipsets, you need only Option "AccelMethod" "XAA" line in xorg.conf
file. Than you will be able to use compiz-fusion.

Taken from a bug report I posted;

http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/show_bug.cgi?id=7665

I was experiancing the same problem.  I have not tried this out yet as I have xorg problem of my own.

You have to put the line in the "Device" section.

Note that the following options may work better than XAA :
Code:
Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
