KMail and Hotmail and Yahoo

Is there anything like webmail or similar in the repositories. Trying to configure KMail to get my hotmail and yahoo- accounts.

If not, does POP- Mail work in KMail?

Yes! POP Mail works in KMail . Are you Swedish why not visit the http://pardus-linux.se Perhaps easier to explain your problems on your own language.

When it doesn't work in KMail it is always possible the switch to Thunderbird with the Webmail Add-ons.

Well, after some digging I had hotwayd installed from the repos. Strange thing thou, xinetd (which is needed by hotwayd) is not in the repos (maybe it's now, but it was'nt when I needed it). So if xinetd is not in the repos you go code:

sudo pisi bi http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/devel/server/xinetd/pspec.xml

and then:

sudo pisi it xinetd-2.3.14-3.pisi

Edit: then answer yes to install all the dependencies. When it's all done

service xinetd on && service xinetd start

Then install hotwayd and configure Kmail!

After installation of xinetd and hotwayd and configuration  of Kmail, I got the result of attachment hotmail.png
As I don't have a slot in my computer, to put money in, this isn't going to work.
Does anybody have a solution to this problem ? 

At this moment I can only fetch from my hotmail account with Thunderbird + Webmail(-Hotmail) add-on.

That has something to do with when you did create your hotmail account. I created mine back in 1999. Accounts created after a certain date won't work I think!

I created my hotmail acoount in 2002, so it is only working for rather old accounts.

In Thunderbird + Webmail-Hotmail add-on you have three modes of connecting:
1. Hotmail (Old website)
2. WebDav
3. Hotmail Live (New website)
Only no 3 is working.
Hotwayd is connecting with WebDav.
I presume that Hotmail Live (New website) is connecting with DeltaSync.
I think this explains it all and means that it is only working for hotmail accounts that are created somewhere before 2002.

At this moment I can read my hotmail account with Kmail+freepops in openSUSE 11.0.
I used the one-click installation (with a number of dependencies) and have to start "freepopsd &" (as root) after a restart.
This shows that it is possible to read (all?) hotmail accounts with Kmail+freepops in Linux.
In Pardus 2008.1 I downloaded and compiled the source code of freepop with 3 warnings.
Kmail  in Pardus (with the same settings as in openSUSE) reports "No new message" when I fetch hotmail.
This is strange and unexpected.
I am now going to do a new installation of openSUSE and try to compile freepops from source.
Maybe this will help to solve this mystery.
Any additional idea is very welcome!

Dump Hotmail and create an alternative email at another Microsoft-independant email provider (gmail, etc.) ?
Hotmail belongs to Microsoft, who has on ongoing tradition of making Linux users' life arbitrary painful.
