[solved]Trying to install Dosemu

THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED..........

The missing package is   xorg-proto.
Install this package and Dosemu is up and running.

Great news!
I didn't know that Xorg header files were in this package.

Could Phix change

into

It is my pleasure to confirm that pisi li xorg-proto led to a perfect dosemu install, following the instructions in PhiX's post, #6 on this thread.

I haven't installed any DOS programs yet -- I need to customize a few things to make WordPerfect run, and after a ten-hour day I probably won't get to it tonight -- but the directory structure is recognizable, and I don't anticipate any trouble.

I'm gratified that my beginner question unearthed a way to make Pardus Linux even more versatile.

It's the Linux part of Edward Mendelsohn's stunning WordPerfect for DOS Updated site. You will have to tweak your dosemu.conf and a couple of system files for maximum performance, but the tweaks are well-explained and quite easy.

It is as if the errors came from the Xorg library. That's odd.

and

Comparing the ./configure konsole output I see 'checking for X11/extensions/XShm.h... no' in 2008 and 'checking for X11/extensions/XShm.h... yes' in 2007.
And I see that the number of files in /usr/include/X11/extensions for 2008=16 and for 2007=117

and a google search=XShm.h showed a number of names, all with "proto" in them.
In Package Manager a Search:proto resulted in "perl-X11-Protocol" and "xorg-proto".
And then it is trail and error until success wins.
