There is one more repository but only for Pardus-2008.

Who Gnome desktop wants to test, can add these repo.
Pardus-2008 and Contrib repositories must be added.

Code:

sudo pisi ar gnomeproject http://pardus-gnome.prj.be/pisi-index.xml.bz2 -y

All Gnome packages under Gnome section in Package-Manager and gdm package must be installed.

After Installation on console:


sudo service kdebase off
sudo service gdm on

and restart

or

install another kdm theme and choose it.

create a new user and login with gnome

*are there some screenshots available of Pardus using GNOME

*what are the first experiences with testdrives of Pardus-Gnome?

Anyone busy with that?

Looks nice, do you use Pardus-Gnome yourself? And does it work smoothly?


Noticed this in the french Pardus forum:

"J'ai testé rapidement hier-soir et ça fonctionne très bien, sans conflit entre les paquets. J'ai pu installer et désinstaller gnome sans aucun problème.
L'intégration est tout ce qu'il y a de plus classique, à noter que si vous installez le paquet gnome-menus le. menu ne sera pas pourri par les applications KDE. Seules les applications GTK et Qt apparaîtront. Ensuite il manque des applications, tel que totem, le logiciel dont j'ai perdu le nom pour graver, gaijm etc.

Donc la base est là et semble plus que correcte niveau packaging, mais nous n'avons pas encore un environnement Gnome complet."
