We're happy to announce Pardus 2008.1 Beta, the first Beta for upcoming
Pardus 2008.1

This beta includes most of the enhancements planned for the final release
and can be dowloaded from

http://ftp://ftp.pardus.org.tr/pub/pardus/installcd/2008.1
http://ftp://ftp.pardus.org.tr/pub/pardus/livecd/2008.1

We would like to remind you that this is not a final version, and should
not be installed on production machines. We did our best to fix all
bugs, however should you find one, do not hesitate to enter a report in
our bug reporting system (http://bugs.pardus.org.tr). Please note that to
eliminate potential problems, burn the CDs in DAO mode, 16x speed.

Some of the highlights of this beta are :

- A new version of Network Manager with Ad-Hoc, 802.1x and Connection
Sharing capabilities,
- The new stable version of KDE - KDE 3.5.10,
- Kernel 2.6.25.16 - the latest stable release of Linux Kernel 2.6.25,
- Swedish language support
- KDE3 based Live CD - KDE4 based one is planned to be released soon.
- And as always, all the enchanments and bugfixes since the release of
Pardus 2008.

Let's remind it one more time - this is a beta grade software : though we
tried to eliminate all the bugs we are aware of, quite possibly there are
more of them. We would be happy to hear about them in our bugzilla and
pardus-users email list.

Happy Hacking

@Andreas

Hello,

here two Screenshots of Pardus 2008.1 Beta.  Smiley

The hardware recognition is with the Live CD very well, like also the performance.

I cannot determine a difference between KDE 3.5.10 and 3.5.9

Greetings
Andreas
