I downloaded a free 2.2 gig fps game server pack. File name "americasarmy-lnxded-281.tar.bz2"  resulting file name after extraction"aops-lnxded-2.8.1"   

problem is i can't get it to run. in ms i get all the shortcuts.

Installing NWN did the same with me.  Try ./aops from the /aop-lnxded-2.8.1 directory.  Or is that the only file?

Thanks Kevani. I went to site you gave me and i found it interesting and some what helpful.       
                                     

Before running wine and wget commands my Pardus partition volume size was about 19-21 gigs.

 After the wrath of emulating a game's full version ms file with wine,installing ms full version with wine,and trying to install the games full version linux server pack with wget to 2 different url's, My Partition Volume size is now 40 gigs.
How do i cleanup uneccessary files?

Games= aops260-linux-server-full (2.6)
       aops-lnxded-2.8.1
       armyops250-linux
       
My home folder shows its 16.6 gigs and when I go in home to calculate all its  folders it sums up to inly 8 gigs.
HOW DO I CLEAN UP EXCESSIVE NO GOOD FILE?

Through more "server.ini" configuration and helpful hints from this site, (http://manual.americasarmy.com/index.php/Linux_Server), I  was able to get America's Army 2.6 server to run on Pardus. AA 2.8.1 gave me sound probs as listed above in earlier post. No,i cant logon and play(serve and play) though i do have the games client also installed in Pardus. Cant use same ip to run server, and log on as client,user. Oh well, maybe there's a manipulative method?.

I still need help on cleaning up excessive no good files?

Glad you got it to run at least!  I never did install my copy of AA.  If I run across any more info, I'll pass it on.

This is just a guess, but AA is installing into it's own folder?  You might be able to just delete the files.  I'm not sure if that's quite the answer you're looking for.  Check for hidden ones.  If you managed to get the full linux version installed, you might drill to that directory and do a "make clean" from Konsole.  No guarantees that'll work.

Actually i think the prob is this;  All my personal folders that i store from simply adding to "HOME", off my Desktop/taskba, measure only 8 gigs. When i open "filemanager" "home" measures 16.8 gigs.

PS. i've not updated or added packages,increasing Pardus volume size, since extracting  game server tar files. from about 20 gigs to now 44 gigs I need to delete,erase, or clean something up here.

run "make clean' from game server directory in a konsole?

how i go about looking for "hidden files"?

In Konqueror, under view, check view hidden files.  Folders with a "." in front (like .mozilla) are hidden normally.  I'm not sure if AA has made any hidden folders, but I'd check.  Well, if I'm not mistaken, the make clean command should remove any duplicate files from a folder, though it might just be for compiling a program from source.  I've been up for a long time today and may be leading you on a wild goose chase.

Thanks.  i was not able to find any hidden files associated with AA to delete and i ran make clean command from game and game server directories unistalling its contents but still i dont know where these extra 20 something gigs came from?

Are there any specific tmp folders or folders that are safe to delete its content in hope that i can clean up Pardus.

Again. my Pardus system volume size went from 20 gigs to 40 as a result (im assuming) of numerous tries to  installing and running a game server.

There is a way to manually clean your trash.

1. Open "File Manager" (enter root password)
2. Enter "Root Folder", go to "view" and select "Show Hidden Files"
3. Locate  ".local" and navigate to "/.local/share/Trash"
4. There should be two folders, "files" and "info"
5. Go to "Tools" and "Open Terminal"
6. Type in console;  rm -rf files
7. After deleting the folder "files" create a new folder and name it "files"
