I haven't ever been able to use Opera since the initial install. It freezes within 10 sec after starting up. It doesn't even seem stable on a blank page. Only Opera freezes, no other applications are harmed. If I wait for a really long time(which is very variable...30 sec to 2min), it starts working again but only to freeze again after about 30 sec. This cycle keeps on repeating. It doesn't matter if I am browsing through a simple web page or if I am viewing a flash video, it is always the same. I have never had any problems with Opera on any other distribution or on Windows. Firefox and Konqueror are pretty stable except with Flash...everybody knows about that...
Opera has always been one of my favorite browsers, so any suggestions are welcome...I only have this problem with Pardus...
I have Pardus 2008.1 on a ThinkPad R60 with 512MB RAM, a 1.67GHz Intel Core Duo processor and a 40GB harddrive.

Hello ashwinhgtx,

I think you should write a bug report about this.

I have the same problem with Opera on my laptop. On my desktop it works as it should most of the times. It's a shame since I prefer Opera as well...

Are a lot of people experiencing this problem or is it just me and MitraMai?

I reinstalled Opera using PiSi and it turned out to be much more stable. So i did the same thing again the next day. Now opera is very stable. But unfortunately it doesn't play flash videos anymore. I get a small white patch instead of a video...

Flash plugin is recognised by opera but still something seems to be wrong.

It does crash every now and then but still now it's on par with Firefox.

Sorry about that. It will not happen again.

Flash is working again.  Smiley

Opera 9.60 is out. I hope they include it in the repositories soon.
