If 'Change volume on every file' is set in Smplayer properties, Smplayer refuses to play videos. There is some error of Mplayer instead. Possible bug.

If you enable that option, SMPlayer will try to change the volume passing to mplayer the -volume option. The official mplayer doesn't have such option! So that's why it'll fail.

It's necessary a patch for mplayer:

Pardus Linux offers Mplayer and Smplayer in it's repos. If these two programs do not work well with each other, then there is a bug which should be fixed, isn't it?

Ch00k: Pardus probably has this problem due to an error when compiling the program as .pisi, it seems to me like a bug.

Yes, I was agreeing with you, and giving a reason as to why the error occured, "pisi compiling". Smiley

You can try to recompile the program yourself if you'd like or try to patch it, I'd be more than happy to find you the source files.

I guess other distros will have the same problem.

I submitted the patch to the mplayer-dev-eng mailing list, I hope it could be included upstream.

The patch which adds the -volume option has been added in mplayer svn r27872 Smiley
