I noticed that the Gnome project repo as of November 11th now contains a subfolder called /devel with the newest (test) pisi packages.

Based on gnome 2.24.1 packages instead of gnome 2.22.3 packages.
(Including totem and so on)

See: http://pardus-gnome.prj.be/devel/

Some of the repositories seems not to exist any more:

They do exist (all links open just fine when you click them), but they are not very frequently updated or extended with new packages when you check the last modifeid dates of the packages, except for users-2008 which got updated packages at December 13th which is quite recently  Wink

It would be nice to know what 'contrib', 'users', 'testing' and 'experimental' mean, in a few simple words Smiley .

In the user-Repo you find packages, with build by users like you and me for example.

This packages are not supported by developers. The packages of contribut are supported by developers.

The test repo is the place were official packages are placed for some final testing purposes but already available as PISI for the public. Once approved packages move from test to pardus main repo or pardus-contrib repo.

E.g. I posted a bug report to request for a new PISI package, in my case an Icecast PISI. In the bugreport progress was last weekend reported back to me mentioning that the almost ready to be released icecast.pisi would be placed in the test repo shortly. Actually in this stage one can assume the PISI package is already usable for production, but officialy it is not yet declared stable.

Why there is a separate experimental repo? I have no idea, seems to serve the same purpose as the test repo.
