Ok so I downloaded both the live cd version and the install from Linuxquestions burned them, and none of them works. They get stuck at the beginning after selecting the first option in the boot manager. I did a checksum for both and they were ok. So I'm guessing the cd were bad or the images were bad.
Anyways I'm going to try again and download them from the main site, but which one do I download?

Pardus_2008.1_Hyaena_hyaena.iso
Pardus_2008.1_Hyaena_hyaena_[Int].iso

Thanks

as i know:
Pardus_2008.1_Hyaena_hyaena.iso             -----> turkisch and english language
Pardus_2008.1_Hyaena_hyaena_[Int].iso    ----->  more languages

... but you can try to install with the "failsafe" option. first screen F2 or F3 i am not shure but "boot".
after succsesfull installation you can edit grub to ractivate some options e.g. acpi.

Is it the first option from the Language selection screen in the Wiki page?

When you did a checksum test as described in point2 of this page (when using Windows) or when using K3b (Linux) , the downloaded .iso file isn't the problem.
Did you use the verify option of the burner software?

Maybe this is a silly question, but did you download the checksum file associated with the iso file, and checked if the numbers were identical ?

@ Phix, Pardus offers the user the option to perform a separate checksum when its loaded into RAM.

@ PhiX, no big deal, even the best of us make small mistakes like that Smiley

As a postscript, be sure to burn the CD at the slowest speed setting possible to avoid data corruption.
