[Pardus-devel] [RFT] Request for Testing of New MPlayer

Hello,

 I have prepared an MPlayer package [1] that has on the fly i18n
support. MPlayer now checks for the LANG environment variable to select
which language to start with and also passing a "-msglang nl" like
parameter will force MPlayer to start with that language. This way
MPlayer frontends that do string parsing to understand what is going on
will make sure MPlayer is started with the language of their choice.

 Please test with different locales / LANG env values / MPlayer
frontends and let me know how it is working, what is working right,
what is working wrong etc.

 PS: I am aware of some gnome-mplayer glitches that are not related to
i18n change, but it won't hurt to let me know about them again.

I'v tried in a console with some export LANG=(fr de nl)  && mplayer myvideo.mkv and logs were in the correct language.

I've tried with smplayer / gmplayer / kmplayer and it works with the correct local.

Goog job i can have my mplayer in french without recompile it.

No and perhaps i had to.
I explain.
The menu in gmplayer is in french, like the preferences window and the stdout but the skin is in Turkish.


So, uninstall pardus mplayer package before install the willem's version and see if the main window skin is in french.

It's actually the 'Onur version' Willem posted Onur's msg from the pardus-devel mailing list so that a wider variety of people can test the package.

(I'v seen the message in the pardus-devel mailing list one or two weeks ago , i didn't remenber)

It works : mplayer, ran from a terminal, is now in french.

gnome-mplayer (not gmplayer, which I can't find in the repositories) is in french too, but totally unusable :
-1- It cannot be closed normally. It has to be killed.
-2- The image size is less than a centimeter large and cannot be resized.

And gecko-mediaplayer freeze firefox
