Canot connect
The kaptain wizard finds no card
(i use Kubumtu 6.06)
This was also the case with the beta release
Does this mean that if I download the "install" cd I will have the same internet connection problem?
Thanks

If your ethernet card is not recognized by the live CD, it won't be recognized by the install CD either.
What is your network card ?
Copy/paste successively the following commands in a terminal to find out :
Code:
su -
lspci | grep Ethernet

My choice is what I choose to do, and if I'm causing no harm it should not bother you.Your choice is who you choose to be, and if your causing no harm then your alright with me.

This network card uses the tulip driver. For some reason, it has not been automatically loaded. So, you have to load it yourself with the following commands (press ENTER after each one) :
Code:
su -
modprobe tulip
Tell us if the is an error message. If there is none, that means the driver is correctly loaded, and that you can try to configure your internet connection with the network manager.

A friend downloaded and burnt the cd for me; without my knowledge.( I had just been talking about Pardus with him!The essay describing the new init and package manager is very impressive.)
I just downloaded and burnt it again, myself.
IT WORKS
I am using Pardus to send this
Thank you for your very speedy help.
I intend to install Pardus as soon as I back up my data.
( your english is excellant; better than mine! )
