Hi all,

I've just completed an installation of Pardus on my new PC and have 2 questions.
1. Is kernel 2.6.28 available in the repos?  This is the newest kernel that supports my ethernet NIC.

2. If so, how would I go about installing the kernel package from a file on CDROM?  I will be able to download the package from a repo and burn to CD on another PC.

I am fairly new to linux and a total nubie with Pardus.

Thanks in advance!

Hi markus46,

I'm afraid kernel 2.6.28 is not available in the repositories yet.
Anyway, to install a pisi package, you just have to double-click on it. This launches the package manager.

Such is life...
I don't suppose anyone knows when 2.6.28 is like to hit the repos?
I can live without an internet & LAN connection for only a little while  Roll Eyes

Perhaps I should just by a ethernet board...

Cheers!
