a collection of some nice Pardus-Sounds you find here

Hi bubbel,
Thanks for sharing the link.
I downloaded the file, but don't know where to put it.  I did a little bit of searcing, and wonder if I have to convert the ogg files to wav format before I can use them in Pardus.  I see there is an application called, Audacity. in the PiSi repos for doing the conversion.   Any answers are appreciated!

Save the file. Double-click on it, and will open in Ark. Another double-click will open the ogg files in Amarok. Set Ark not to open the files with the internal viewer. Maybe the problem is that you need to install Q7Z.

Hi altogether

this sound collection is made by the German Pardus Community, PardusUser.de:

I published them at KDE-Look.org. It is a community work of PardusUser.de - most of the sounds are made from our our member aka "lutz-tux".

To use these sounds go to TASMA > Sound and Multimedia > Systemsounds
In this window you choose easily your sound on each action.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask - I'm sure that the out great "friend-community" Worldforum.pardus-linux.nl will help you out

If share your Computer with other users, than you can save memory, if you store these sound files at:
/usr/kde/3.5/share/sounds/ (you need Root privilegs to do this -> just run "kdesu konqueror" )

OGG is the free version of MP3! All Linux operating System are supporting OGG - there ist no need to convert them to WAV oder some other audio formats.

Wow, nice sounds!
Hey, thanks, fellas!  It is easier to do than I thought.  I did Ark (extract to 99333-Pardus_Rocks), then the  Amarok trick and also went to Tasma>Sounds & Mutlimedia>System Notifications.  Again, thank you for your time in helping me with this!

And thanks for reminding me about OGG files being the free version - I forgot about that. 

Yep, R R O O A R.  Now a system sound notification for "critical message is being shown" should be that of a kitten's mew.
