Thanks waf, interesting article!

Funny you should post this.  I just scanned a photo to share and, well, I have a somewhat new scanner, a Canon Canoscan
5600F that isn't Linux supported yet, because, well, you know Canon, they so hate to share information on drivers, so I have Windows XP to be able to use the scanner, though, truthfully speaking, I don't use the scanner all that often. Canon is a tight-fisted, stubborn lot!

Thanks again waf!

Hello Lisa Marie,

perhaps you should write a Bug-Report for wish building a driver for your scanner. Wink

Hello Lisa Marie,

here the answer of the Bug-Team:

Nope, Neither a sane backend nor a canon proprietary driver exists for this
model.

Sorry.

Thanks waf and bubbel!
ah, cute kitty - you know my weakness!

Thanks for writing the bug report.  I figured as much.  At least my Canon Pixma iP3000 printer works, as well as my Canon 640 camera.  Scanners seem to be a tricky peripheral to get working in Linux, especially USB port scanners. I'm sure my scanner will eventually be included further down the road.

Thanks again, fellas!
Regards, Lisa Marie
