Just a quick question, I was wondering if I needed to enable the firewall that comes with Pardus?  After looking a little I saw that linux distros are already protected by something called iptables.  Does Pardus have this, and if it does, do I need to turn on the firewall that Pardus has?

Think of Firewall config as a graphical user interface for iptable.

Hello
thanks for your response.
the first choice is named: block ingoing connections.
the third choice is named:block outgoing connections.

And I have a new question:
There is a firewall in the router too, if I check it off and keep pardus firewall on, is it a good idea ?(for much speed internet connection...)

Hello,

please try it in the third choise with "no block outgoing connections" and a would not change it in the router.

An then you can control, if the ports are closed here  Wink
