Hi,

When I try to play an audio cd, and then start amarok, "play audio cd" it says could not read audio cd.  If I try to use the "autodetect" devices, it doesn't come up with anything.

I had this problem in another Linux distro and ended up having to install amarok-xine, but there is no such thing in PiSi.  Any ideas?

Tasma>Sound system>Hardware is set to autodetect.
Regards,
Lisa Marie

Hi Lisa,

Amarok is configured by default to read audio CD from the /dev/cdrom device file. But Pardus uses /dev/scd0 (which is a link to /dev/scd0).
Do as follow :
Amarok > Configuration > Configure Amarok > Engine > default device : /dev/scd0 > Apply

You are welcome Smiley

Anyway, I think it deserves a bug report, well a "bug + solution" report, so Amarok comes pre-configured for audio CD in the future.
Can you do it ?

I'll try.  I've never done one before but I can give it a go.

I also did the same for KsCD audio cd player, as it had default device as /dev/cdrom, too, and I can now hear tunes from it as well, after changing it to /dev/scd0
