you are welcome too.  You can find it in the package-manager if you search for x264 by installed packages or new packages.

Thank you Andreas, I found it in installed Packages, now the question is why Ekiga will not load? And why this message when I try to oen it from the Terminal? Strange, When I click on Ekiga from the main menue it is bounsing and then nothing is happen. I cannot find the codec eventhought he is installed.

Here what I get from the Terminal when I paste it in:

x264
x264 [error]: No input file. Run x264 --help for a list of options.

and when I   type in: ekiga: I get this:

h264_video_pwplugin_helper: error while loading shared libraries: libx264.so.68: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
 So the x264 codec is installed but it seems the libx264.so.68 is missing? Can`t find it in the Repo not in installed and not in new packages, shall I download it from the link you gave me will it have then all dependencies?

Hello ilanesh,

search please in the package-manager > new packages after libx an install the packages with begin with libx, but not the packages with begin with libxfce.

found the packages in the repo and clicked on all of them exept the xfce once not as you told me, then it tried to do something and was wating and wating and then I got this message:

Package not found. It may be upgraded in or removed from the repository. Please try upgrading repository informations.

ok, now I had to install them all one by one, so they are installed and I get stil te same error on the terminal with ekiga, and opening from the main menue is also not working, it needs the libx264.so
and this is not in the  the repo.

Now I have installed lots of stuff not needet, I give up on it, so I do not want it anymore, now I have a whole mass on my distro and do not know hw to get rid of that mass.

atolboo I guess I don`t touch it and leave it as it is now, Ihave otherwise everything I need.
I guess its better to wait till it is in the repo one day then it should work.

1.) Adding repository:

2.) Updating your packages list:

sudo pisi update-repo

3.) Installing Ekiga

sudo pisi install ekiga

The pacakge-manager will install all depending packages automatically.

I have reinstalled pardus cause it is still very slow with browser, and now I do not know how to install wine and dosbox. I had it and don`t remember from where I installed it. I have the contrib repo 2009, but no wine and no dosbox on it.
Also no Opera wbbrowser, so I just don`t remember how I did it, this is all too much complcated.

Finally I found out that I had to update the contrib repo, I thought it is doingthis automatic.
So I found all the software needet.
The only thing I could not find is the smplayer and mplayer.
Also googlechrom browser is now working lightening fast, am happy now.

search in package-manager after kmplayer in new packages and smplayer by installed packages.  

Then all you will find.

I did this and ln -sv /usr/lib/libx264.so.78 /usr/lib/libx264.so.68 (had to be sudo), but still got an error:
