A developer group from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Computer Engineering Department anounced they will start a project for 64 bit of Pardus next September. Here a quote from project manager Necdet YÜCEL's Blog;

Quote
"
We decided to prepare 64 bit of Pardus. When we inform Pardus team about our idea they met this very gladly.  We went to Gebze (TUBITAK Base) with a little part of our team at 12th of june and talked about details with Pardus team members. Finally we decided to formalize this project with making a protocol between TUBITAK and ÇOMU.

We gonna start project next September and we planning release 64 bit about June 2010."

All team members are students or graduates of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and they are around 10 people.

This is very good news. The growth of Pardus is always good news and having 10 more local minds helping the project is welcome. Good luck to the COMU guys.

RE: final date
April 01 is "joke" day in some cultures.
Perhaps changing to 02 would be good?

Yes, it's a funny day  Cheesy

I think the road map above perhabs can be changed - depending on the development state of the 64 bit Pardus.
