Can I ask a question here? I don't see anywhere else yet.....

I'm loving everything about 2009 but I can't get the nvidia driver to work. System Settings > Display select nvidia - download what is says and reboot - didn't work.

Zorg command from the other thread didn't work, manual install procedure using downloaded driver didn't work.

Anyone got this working yet?

The nvidia driver is working flawless for me . I just installed it in PISI , selected the proper driver in TASMA, and rebooted . The only flaw I can find with 2009 is that LCD weather is still broken for anything other than a BBC feed .

Users close to the Netherlands can also download the CD from:

http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/pardus/installcd/2009/

Might be faster once the whole of Turkey starts to download...  Smiley

Hi

This is great news.  Is there a way to upgrade my 2008.1 Pardus to 2009, without reinstalling?

Many thanks

Be patient, because I see a lot of updates in http://svn.pardus.org.tr/uludag/trunk/kde4/migration4/ between release time and today.
So I think they are working on a tool. Wink

........ proper driver in TASMA, .........
TASMA is no longer present in Pardus 2009.
From Pardus 2009 Release Notes:

A new manager System Manager has been added to provide easy configuration of system wide settings, like the default locale, keymap, timezone etc.

I do not know if the developers follow this forum, but if they do not, please could someone pass on my grateful thanks for a superb release of Pardus 2009?

In the course of my journey with Linux which spans many Linux distributions, I have never found a more user friendly, good looking and stable release.

This release is a credit to the testers and developers, and deserves our thanks and praise for all their hard work in making this terrific release possible.

Browsing the system to upload a file via Firefox freezes the browser solid . The method or website involved makes no difference . Opera works fine . A decent web cam app would be nice as well - I'm assuming that's in the works .

Failed twice using the plain 2009 iso. Worked when I used the international iso.

it seems that pardus 2009 is a little lag on my AMD sempron 1800.
pardus 2008.2 runs more smart. i hope the support will go on for a long time.
seems that it was the right decision staying at kde 3.5x as long as possible.

I have downloaded the international version again since the checksum problem was apparently solved. However although the checksums of the iso are now different from before, they still disagree with the expected values.

Expected:
md5sum        c678272118c3ac3e1df7e24f8d782e44
sha1sum       d4e436d45f6986c7af9857f6e2f699910a4093c8

Actual (mine anyway):
md5sum        3bcd7e3b36b20e3a646456c7035d6f92
sha1sum       57ca1130205148b3500017d734508543f7952aaa

Would be grateful for some help please.
