Arrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Shit happens......
I was running RC2 on my laptop, and did a sudo pisi up today.
Afterwards system information showed that I was running 2009 with KDE 4.2.4 (as far as I remember), so far so good.
I thought to be sure let's do a proper shutdown and restart...BUT
after that I am stuck in the login screen (which should not appear at all because I had automatic login in RC2) and I cannot access the graphical KDE environment anymore!
Each time I enter the correct password for the user it starts trying to open KDE but after a while and a black screen with a corsor it returns back to the login screen.
Other types of sessions including failsafe return the same login screen
I still can login using the same user/password when I do a Colsoe login.
As soon as I try to startx, it crashes and from a bunch of output on the screen it appears it ahs problems with kdeinit4 or so.
Anyone a suggestion how to restore the KDE startup?
I still have the system running and accesible in Console.
This is too bad, and IMO should not happen following a regular upgarde but as stated shit happens, so now I have to face it.
Anyone a suggestion?
