FreeCiv (http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page) was available in Pardus 2008, but does not seem to be listed in the repositories of 2009.

I made the mistake of downloading the PISI file and tried to install in 2009 RC2 but it did not work.

Please would you make my wife very happy - she will not upgrade to 2009 unless she can play 'her game'  Smiley

Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

Then you should write a Bug-Report for a package wish of that program for Pardus 2009 Wink

A Bug-Report is not only for errors but also for desires. Wink

Thank you very much for the suggestion bubbel, and I have submitted a bug report for the inclusion of freeciv to be added to Pardus 2009.

Terrific news! After submitting a request to the developers, they have added the freeciv PISI.
Below is a copy of the email

Hello Tony,

located is this file here: http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/devel/applications/games/freeciv/pspec.xml

The package will build now in the build-farm and should be available in the Repo tomorrow or next days. Wink

And if you insist on building the pisi package now already you can visit the wiki on how to create a pisi package from the pspec.xml file:

Code:
sudo pisi bi http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/devel/applications/games/freeciv/pspec.xml

in the Console will build the PISI package for you which can then be installed as usually

However keep in mind this is not recommended, because before the PISI is released officially it goes through testing procedures, in other words compiling the PISI from the SVN trunk / theoretically has a risk of a malfunctioning software application.

Just a quick message about FreeCiv in the Pardus 2009 test repository - I have downloaded and installed this on my machine to test for my wife. Works flawlessly. Upgraded my wife's desktop computer to Pardus 2009 (plus FreeCiv of course) :-)
Brscan2 (for the Brother DCP 135c printer/scanner) also works flawlessly with Skanlite. Printer automatically installs.

Wonderful! Thank you to all involved.
