I tried to install Pardus 2009 on my netbook using the instruction on Pardus wiki
http://en.pardus-wiki.org/Pardus:Installation2008netbook

Hello,

the instruction is for Pardus installation 2008

I think for Pardus 2009 the instruction will not go. Why, I don`t know. Sorry. Huh?

Greetings

After Pardus finished the installation successfully I removed the USB and rebooted. It showed me weird numbers something like 9A 9A 9A .... on the screen

I discovered later that GRUB was installed on the USB stick not the hard disk, since I left the default options.

I can boot from the USB and the boot loader shows Pardus 2009 logo and then boots into the hard disk.

How can I reinstall grub to the netbook hard disk?

Thanks Bubel.. Reinstalling the grub fixed it Smiley now I have Pardus 2009 on my EEEPC. The performance is quite good even with the effects on.

THIS IN NOT 100% VALID
Pardus 2009 USB version has problems with the location of the bootloader GRUB.

Someone help plz
I know that this problem exists.
My solution for this moment is, (after installation) restart again from USB.
When the "Welcome !!" (license) screen is shown press Ctrl+Alt+F1.
And follow the instructions from http://en.pardus-wiki.org/HOWTO:Restore_Grub#With_Pardus_2008.x_CD

I noticed Puding arriving in the test repo.

Could that make installing Pardus from an USB drive easier?

http://www.ohloh.net/p/puding

WHAT IS PUDING?
Puding is a USB image creator for Pardus 2008 or later. You can write
image to USB disk from any Pardus 2008 or later ISO image.

Not for me .......... it doesn't do what it is supposed to do.
It's by far not a replacement for Unetbootin at this moment.
Further info can be viewed [here] and additional posts.
But you can also test Puding yourself !

Hello,

I tested the "pudgin-package from Pardus 2009 test-repo" under Padus 2008.2, but the program dos not start. Huh?

The installation was without problems and therefore I wrote a package-wish for Pardus 2008.2

The happy news is that the above has changed with the new puding-0.2-7-3.pisi.
After setting the bootflag of the USB device (fat32) I get the image below (login required) from Pardus_2009_International.iso
