My name is Caitlyn and I live near Raleigh, North Carolina, in the United States. I was introduced to Linux in 1995 and have used it as my primary OS since 1998. I also work with Linux/UNIX professionally.
Perhaps my most controversial role is writing about Linux. I am currently the regular feature writer for DistroWatch Weekly. I reviewed Pardus 2009 (yes, a largely favorable review) for Monday's issue. I also write for O'Reilly Media and for my own blog.
I am new to Pardus (just since 2009 was released) and I am impressed with it for the most part so far. It certainly has the nicest KDE 4 implementation I've found yet. It is also the first distro that fully supported absolutely everything in my Sylvania g Netbook Meso (a/k/a Amtek Elego outside the U.S.) right out of the virtual box. Very nice!
I also have a circa 2002 Toshbia Satellite 1805-S204. Pardus did not correctly configure the Toshiba CyberBlade XPi graphics card (yes, I need to file a bug report) but I was able to make the needed additions to my xorg.conf file to get that working correctly. It was also slow running KDE 4 but is much better running Xfce 4.6.1 from the contrib repo.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with Pardus so far so you may be stuck with me
