My computer, under Pardus, presents itself as "username-pardus" in the login splash-screen and in Terminal; while that is not such a bad thing, it doesn't really fit my style, nor does the title-bar for KDE launcher which gives "MyName (username) on username-pardus". In SuSE, changing the localhost name in /etc/hosts and setting the name in /etc/hostname does the trick. But not in Pardus! So, could someone please direct me how to change my computer name to something else, like "amon-ethir". Thanks, in advance.  Wink

Hello radagast,

you can change the name of you Computer-Name following: Wink

Network-Manager > Connections edit > Name Service-Preferences > Hostname

After restart you see your new Computer-Name.

Greetings
