Has anyone had any success in using this repo to upgrade to Pardus 2009.1 from 2009?

The process froze when I tried adding the repo and upgrading- I had to reinstall, so I'm not keen on trying again 

Maybe I should wait until the final version is out?

OK- impatient as ever I tried again.  Everything went well, except that I can't start Pardus using the new kernel-2.6.31.9-129

When I select it through Grub, I get a blank screen

I can start Pardus using the older kernel-2.6.30.9-128, although I have to use the nv driver as X won't start using nvidia-current

Any ideas?

What CPU & graphics card do you have? As I see this problem with my AMD/Nvidia box, but not on my VIA -based netbook (HP2133).

I have managed without problems. But you can disable the 2009 sources when you upgrade. Next, you not need upgrade all files at once. You can take it in stages. It becomes a bit much for Pardus if you take all the files.

The lock-up on boot issue should now be resolved.

After bouncing a series of tests back & forth with the developers, the problem was isolated to the Athlon XP series CPU and they were able to find a fix to the kernel in time for the release.

Thanks for seeing that through James.  I've been following your progress with the devs.

I ended up completely messing up my installation in the process, so will need to reinstall (luckily I have a separate /home partition).  I shall wait for the final version now, as it's so close.
