Hello rpizarro and welcome,  Wink

your can convert one RPM-File to a tar.gz archive with the package rpm2targz, which you find in the repo.  Wink

The instruction how to use rpm2targz you find for example in this Thread  Wink

Greetings

Thanks Andreas.

Take a look to my work.

Extract .tar

activities.es.sh
ibm_lotus_cae-8.5.1.i586.rpm
ibm_lotus_sametime-8.5.1.i586.rpm
notes.es.sh
symphony.es.sh
cae.es.sh
ibm_lotus_notes-8.5.1.i586.rpm
ibm_lotus_symphony-8.5.1.i586.rpm
pub_ibm_lotus_notes.gpg
ibm_lotus_activities-8.5.1.i586.rpm
ibm_lotus_notes-core-es-8.5.1.i586.rpm
ibm_lotus_symphony-nl1-8.5.1.i586.rpm
sametime.es.sh
ibm_lotus_activities-nl1-8.5.1.i586.rpm
ibm_lotus_notes-nl1-8.5.1.i586.rpm
smartupgrade.sh

Then converto RPM file with rpm2targz only three file like say ./notes.es.sh

Following steps will be taken:
    Step1: install ibm_lotus_notes-8.5.1.i586.rpm
    Step2: install ibm_lotus_notes-nl1-8.5.1.i586.rpm
    Step3: install ibm_lotus_notes-core-es-8.5.1.i586.rpm

I use the same order to convert and install the tar.gz.

ibm_lotus_notes-8.5.1.i586.tar.gz
ibm_lotus_notes-core-es-8.5.1.i586.tar.gz
ibm_lotus_notes-nl1-8.5.1.i586.tar.gz

Then

tar xvzf ibm_lotus_notes-8.5.1.i586.tar.gz
tar xvzf ibm_lotus_notes-nl1-8.5.1.i586.tar.gz
tar xvzf ibm_lotus_notes-core-es-8.5.1.i586.tar.gz

then install the files

.
.
.

./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/kvgraph.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/senddiag.res
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/BlankCompositeApp.xml
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/misr.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libdbodbc.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/update
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libntcheck.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/kvzip.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libwmsgtrc.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/trace.dcx
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/kpbmpwrt.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/kvhqxsr.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/lzhsr.so
./opt/ibm/lotus/notes/kppcxrdr.so

but the Notes Client not start. Sad

What can I do?

Thanks

your can convert one RPM-File to a tar.gz archive with the package rpm2targz, which you find in the repo.  Wink
And you can open/unpack a .rpm file with Xarchiver (available in contrib).
It's a graphical tool for handling achives ( like Ark) and will also handle
Quote
Xarchiver is a GTK+2 only frontend to 7z, zip, rar, tar, bzip2, gzip, arj, lha, rpm and deb (open and extract only).
Xarchiver allows you to create, add, extract and delete files in the above formats. 7z, zip, rar, arj password protected archives are supported.
After installation in Package Manager it's available in Utilities.
