[solved] Cannot Install Pardus from USB

Alrite how good can your distro be if it fails to install from USB?
And I have tried every possible way for this.

"Cannot find root media;job control turned off"

is the error I get. When I exit from the shell it says it is not able to mount pardus.img. Another exit and the kernel panics.

I have used UNetbootin to create the USB, it is bootable blah blah. Four other flavors of linux have been succesfully installed using the same mechanism.I have even made the changes said in the wiki to the syslinux.cfg file.

My suspicion is, the init script is not able to detect the USB. The kernel detects it as I once booted without the splash and the console was able to detect sdb and sdb1.
After that it repeated,

"initramfs:coolplug probing for devices"

or something to this effect a lot of times before job control turned off.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

* Hybrid images

  Starting with 2009.1 RC series, Pardus images are created as hybrid images,
  which can be used to create CD, DVD or harddisk like media (USB stick for
  example) of Pardus. You can burn CD and DVD images like normal image burning
  process. To create a USB stick, you can use dd command

  dd if=Pardus_2009.1_Anthropoides_virgo.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M

  where X stands for the device ID of your USB stick. Please note that this
  command will erase all the data in sdX to create an image. Also if you choose
  a wrong ID and write the image to your harddisk, it will also erase all the
  data in your harddisk and may cause data loss.

  After creating the hybrid image, you can use a partition editor to create and
  use the remaining space on your USB stick.

Thanks for the reply Trixon. Can you explain the difference between this and using UNetbootin?

dd just dumps the contents of the iso onto the usb drive rite? isnt this the same as writing the iso onto the usb? (or does dd alaso affect the partition table?)

Another way is using mandriva seed.sh
mandriva seed is dd with a GUI.
