Ah, I haven't seen a Honry Toad in years!  When we were kids growing up in S. California, me and my brothers had fun playing with these cute lizards.   We usually came across them while out on a day trip with my Dad.

You remind me that I need to organize my pictures to my album.  Lately, I've been taking pictures of butterflies attracted to the pears and native paw  paw fruits that I have eaten, and left the cores on the back porch railing for them to feast on.  I'm amazed how many butterflies were attracted to the fruit.   Using a tripod made taking the pictures much easier, as I could get up real close.

Thanks for sharing the photos, Linuzoid.  I'll see if I can get mine up to share.

I sometimes wonder if I have dyslexia.  There i go again, getting my letters mixed up. Embarrassed

I see you and I share a common interest, linuzoid, as you enjoy taking pictures of nature.  I'm always amazed at what goes on in nature.  Only today, when it was getting quite dark out at dusk, another butterfly visited the fruit.  This time it was a Buckeye Butterfly.  I wasn't able to get a picture of it.

Took me all evening to do this, only because I made the mistake of uploading the photos twice when I thought my connection hung.  Roll Eyes

Beautiful photos Lisa, I do love nature and I like to take pictures of flowers, animals, etc... in their natural environment. I see the professional photos look like their done in the studio. I wanted to capture nature in it's own environment. Nature in itself is so marvelous and beautiful. Amazing things in nature are happening around us everyday and most don't even notice, Most of the wild flowers photos I've taken are weeds that people pass by everyday and never even notice. I was guilty of this too until I start taking pictures of them.

Once again thank taking the time to share your wonderful photos. Very Cool, Cool

linuzoid, I agree.  I usually dig up and take plants home with me to plant in our own yard.  These would be considered weeds by most, and they are often numerous on the sides of the road, so I am not reducing their numbers in anyway by doing this.  One I have planted by our wooden shed that is taller than I am.  It is full of small inconspicuous whitish flowers, that smell sweet.  It is covered in insects, small wasps, small Skipper butterflies, and other small insects that prefer small flowers.  I have yet to identify it, though we do have a few books to help with this.  I think that is the fun part, to try and identify what the plant, insect, spider, or reptile is.  The hard part is getting a good shot with a digital camera.  I use a Canon Powershot 640, and you can only get so good a close up shot.  I seem to use the custom setting on the camera more now, and the flower icon for close up shots, as i can get truer colours and more detail this way.  It's taking a long time figuring out how to use a digital camera, and I was never good with a 35mm.  Tongue

Keep taking those nature shots!
