Hi eveyone,

I'm using Linux 2009.2

I used to play a game called "Eternal Lands" by launching the script downloaded from the game site,

Recently I  did an upgrade of Pardus packages, After this upgrade the game became unplayable (freeze after some seconds).

I wonder if someone has been facing such problem.

PS: After installing the game for the first time, I installed fglrx driver from pardus repos to be able to play the game.

Any clues?

When you run the game from a konsole and when it crash, is there something displayed in the stdout ? (is there a log file anywhere ?)
Do you play with the kwin's compositing effects activated ? If so, try to disable it.

thanks for the reply

I found the solution, when I upgraded pardus kernel package, the old fglrx driver can no longer assume 2D and 3D acceleration, so the game opens in a graphical window and after  second crashes.

So I deleted the fglrx driver package (in the package manager),
and then I installed the new fglrx driver from ati.com
and now the game works like a  charm
