Can I use Google talk plugin in Pardus?

I guess that is possible by using Kopete, but I have no experience with that mnyself.

You might want to have a look in this turkish wiki page nd translate the page with Google Translate...

From the images it looks like you have to choose to add a Jabber account and enter the Google (Talk) account data there

I guess using jabber protocol, voice chatting is not possible using kopete:

At the Google website it only shows:
 32-bits .deb (Debian/Ubuntu)
 64-bits .deb (Debian/Ubuntu)
 32-bits .rpm (Fedora/openSUSE)
 64-bits .rpm (Fedora/openSUSE)

So I guess that is not yet available as tar.gz source package nor ported to a pisi package.

What I do know is that sometimes right issues get in the way and you can not start porting Google-owned software for distribution by yourself right away without the risk of legal action from Google.

So as far as the plug-in solution concerns I guess the answer is NO, but in a stand alone version (the software itself, not the plug-in) you might get things working in Pardus.

I see that Pidgin are included in Pisi in 2011 rc.
I think its there in Pardus 2009.2 to?

I have not tested it but its suppose to support Google talk.

Yes Pidgin is in 2009.1 repo, I have added a direct link in the post above.

both gst-ffmpeg and gst-plugins-ugly are installed on my system

I have installed Pidgin om my Pardus 2009.2 system but Pidgin does not start up   it stops opening and disappears from my desktop after a few seconds.

Code:

ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file:

Please either:
- remove it and restart.
- run with --gst-disable-segtrap and debug.

wow, i never knew there are rpm2targz and deb2targz commands available

By the way, pidgin can do voice chat with gtalk. I successfully did.
