Pisi updates in 2011.

I am using Pardus 2009.2 at the moment. I am missing some programs in version 2001.
Some of them are mentioned here:

So I wonder if it have been some updates in 2011 yet? And if not when will they start to do that?

I will move over to 2011 when more programs are avaible.

There are now separate 2011 and 2011-devel repository lists at http://packages.pardus.org.tr/. But so far nothing seems to have filtered through from the devel to the main -- in fact I've not seen any updates since the official release.

Ok. Many newcomers to Pardus wonder why its no pisi activites at all for so long time since the release. So it would be good to know if its one week, a month or even two months away before they start to filling upp the repo and releasing some updates.
I think it was around 2 months or longer  for version 2009 before all programs in 2008.2 was transfered there and thats was way to long I think.
In future releases they should change the working process so all applications be avaible from day 1. Better to delay the release if necessary.

So I guess I continue with my 2009.2 for the moment and wait.

I don't really agree. They stuff they have in the repos are lots of the best programs and most popular ones. Of course everything isn't going to be in the repo at release time, with kernel upgrades, driver upgrades, dependency updates and program updates there are lots of chances of stuff not working right even on the software side of things. For instance, there have been issues with wine on the 64bit side of things with pardus compiling. It's essential they have the basis covered before they start venturing into the unknown or there would never be a new release.
It's a very similar thing with Gentoo or Arch as being rolling releases. Take a peek into their forums of all the issues between kernel upgrades and the change from HAL and of course Xorg. It's not always an easy task.  With the dev repo being available you could always try compiling it yourself if it's very necessary to have a certain program or just stick with an older release till you hear something different.
Certainly I mean no disrespect to those that don't agree, but pardus has limited man power so they need to stick to a plan.

There is a reason that Debian stable is so far behind the times with their back end, because it's hard to get everything working when it's all evolving at the same time. Thats also why with distros like Ubuntu they repos are very static (unchanging other then security updates) unless you add 3rd party repos from launchpad and what not, also thats why it's such a large and potentially risky step during upgrades between releases ie 10.04 to 10.10

So I guess they are quit busy now. Pardus 2011 have most of the stuff for a "normal" user I suppose.
But I hope atleast they get most of the packages  from 2009.2 to the new 2011 at the end of february.
And if they soon will have Gyache Improved (Yahoo chat client)  to I am happy.

Then I will not complain on the repo more.

And about the limited manpower they are not so few anymore:

"With more money coming from the government we are hiring new people. We plan to have more than 40 by the end of 2010 and at least 50 by the end of 2011. This is a sizable growth, considering we are 20 right now."

Why didn't they just base the Corporate edition on 2011 and give it different default settings and apps? I'm sure they have a good reason. I'm just wondering what it is.

Corporate using the old KDE3.5 desktop. More similar to the old Pardus 2008.2
But version 2011 seems to be a popular Pardus version. I think many who not know anything about Pardus before trying it.
So maybe this be Pardus "breakthrough" even outside of Turkey.

I think they have released 3 major updating packages since the release of Pardus 2011. That included a lot of programs to.
So I not miss much there now.
