That is beyond me.

openSuSE 11.4 seems to have been released with a lot of problems.  Some of the reviews are very critical.  It may take a month for them to get some of the bugs out.

I suppose Pardus will release will release KDE 4.6 when its stabile enough. Its ok with me. Smiley
When I tryed OpenSuse 11.4 I had a lot of trouble to.

Sometimes its not good to implement things to fast.

The 8 month rather than the 6 month release cycle of *buntu was supposed to fix some of this. I guess the urge to squeeze in just one more thing is hard to resist.

I don't think there's any rush to update 4.5 to 4.6 in Pardus, I mean really, 4.5 is stable and fast enough for me.... why fix what isn't broken?

OK, I installed kdebase-runtime for 4.6.1, but it was less than 1.0Mb... and nothing changed.

How do you install this?

or...

In the package manager on the settings tab "Repositories"
change the URL from the stable to the devel

I have installed KDE 4.6.1 on Pardus 2011 and everything is working faster and flawlessly!

Thank you so much to those who worked on this project, you did an amazing job!

Edit: It was working great untill I tried Desktop Cube, it froze my computer, not once, but three times.  Sad

KDE 4.6 upgrade made my system 64 bit install unbootable.
It comes back up to splash screen and starts to load the KDE desktop screen but stops at the little "tool setting" display then goes to the login screen. It won't start in failsafe or any other mode that I know how to use.
I've re-installed to another partition but would like to get back to this one for some things.
Is there a way to roll this back?
