There used to be a very  good program for writing iso images to usb sticks in Pardus 2009.x called IsoWriter.  Since I updated my Pardus to 2011,  I can not find it in the package manager.  I also use Pardus Corporate2 on several machines at work (older computers with less RAM and less than 2G processor speed).  I hope the developers make IsoWriter available for the latest Pardus versions. I found it very user-friendly and effective while I was using version 2009.  I imagine there are others who found it useful as well.

... Since I updated my Pardus to 2011,  I can not find it in the package manager......
This is because one of the dependencies for Isowriter  is still missing from the official repo.
For this I created >Bug 16798< - Request for package gksu in P2011.
There you can also why I couldn't build this gksu myself.
In the meantime the build files for gksu are available >HERE< for more than 2 months.
Today I will do my best to construct a Isowriter.pisi with the above knowledge. Grin
This besides my for Red Eclipse ( to Alexey for making the first build files) with these Test packages and a new Qnext (no published build files yet).
The Red Eclipse Test package will install an additional 422MB data from the internet during installation.
And this may take a considerable time, depending on your internet provider.

gksu? Not necessarily.

In Pardus 2011 is kdesu. Ie in kde it is. But beware, it makes no LINK to /usr/bin.

In P2009 gksudo was needed to get an active progress indicator in Isowriter.
With kdesu the progress indicator would not indicate the progress with transferring to USB.

Until this moment I can't get a working progress indicator in P2011.
Test version for P2011 is available in >my playground/atolboo/isowriter<.
This one will give menu entries:
1. Isowriter (Gksu Live-....)
2. Isowriter (Kdesu Live-....)
3. Isowriter (Live-...)
This way you can test it yourself Grin and remove the package after testing.

Any help to solve this problem is

atolboo,

Thank you very much for all of your hard work.  I just finished with the installation of isowriter and am looking forward to trying it out.  All of your efforts are greatly appreciated.
