Wow, it works this way, though I was hoping to get a solution which would enable me writing in firefox directly... but this is far better than nothing, so thanks! Smiley

As I said in a previous post, you can add

Code:
export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS="@im=ibus"

in /usr/bin/startkde. And it'll work without running an app from a konsole.

These ^^^ three lines was added to /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ibus.sh script in latest release (4) ibus package, so after update it and restart KDE it'll work without running an app from a konsole.

Any modification /usr/bin/startkde file will work up to reinstall or update kdebase-workspace package, because

Quote
pisi sf /usr/bin/startkde
Package kdebase-workspace has file /usr/bin/startkde

Thanks you very much for your work.

Um, I hate to troll you guys with this, but it still doesn't work for me. Maybe its because of the old package I installed? In fact, even after the update, I only have a 51ibus.sh file in Xsession.d directory, no ibus.sh. 51ibus.sh file however, contains the three lines described above. still, it has no effect...

...still, it has no effect...

You cannot add anthy to input method list?
Or write when e.g. kwrite is running not from console?

テスト

It is result of write tesuto (with ibus, anthy, ibus-anthy on pardus 2011) not copy & paste.
What is your problem now?
Have you installed
Code:
sudo pisi it anthy ibus ibus-anthy ibus-qt
from pardususer.de repo?

I'll try to resolve your problem, but I need to know more.

Just for information, I've installed these packages on my computer at work and ibus work fine, with anthy method selected by default.

Ok, first I installed gyan000's packages, then I installed the first version you (a.palius) uploaded at pardususer.de. It then worked with kwrite opened from konsole. Then I updated - and, strangely, after that it didn't work from konsole either.. it says no input window, and do not reacts to ctrl+space... nor any combination. I then tried a reinstall - but it turned out that it does not really made a clean install, since the settings remained unchanged even after that operaton. And, of course, it still didn't work... Sad

Also after (in konsole):
Code:
sudo pisi it python-pyxdg notify-python ibus anthy ibus-anthy --reinstall -y
Huh?

Still not working. I also checked in PiSi, and it says all five elements are installed. I realized that even though they were supposedly reinstalled, the setting I made were not re-set, they remined unchanged. the ibus icon is on the taskbar, the japanese-anthy input medhod is added to the input method list, it's just that it can't be switched on. Not even in konsole opened kwrite...

...... added to /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ibus.sh script
This ^^^  should be /etc/profile.d/ibus.sh Grin

When ibus.sh is located in  /etc/profile.d/ then ibus works when kwrite is running only from console.
I moved ibus.sh to /etc/X11/Xsession.d/51-ibus.sh and ibus works when kwrite is running from console and kde menu.

Will be tested and if necessary I will modify the ibus package.
